Inter-Years Sports Competition

The Inter-Years Sports Competition, which was held on Saturday were a great success for all concerned with a full day of fun, sports and activities. The day kicked off with a opening speech by Dr Viphandh, who encouraged students to share and compete in the days events, and life in general, with true sporting, and personal professionalism.

The day was, in all our opinions, the very best sporting match up we have ever had on campus. The overall winners, by a narrow margin, were the 4th year students who clinched the competition in the final basketball match. Coming a close second were the 2nd year with the 3rd year taking out the cheer leading performance. A truly great day of friendship, sportsmanship and comradeship, and we would like to say a special thank you to the organiser Mr Putt, 3rd year engineering student and his team for a great idea and a great day!

A special "thank you" to all who helped me celebrate my birthday at the closing ceremony in such an excellent fashion, one of the best birthdays I have ever had. By the way, the BBQ (Pig on a Spit) was also excellent.
